Dear Sunny,
This winter is the first winter that you can actually walk around and play in the snow. I took you outside and you looked around for a minute in awe. Then you played a little bit with the snow and it was very very cute. I can’t wait for more snows so we can build snowmen, make snow angles, go sledding, and have snowball fights with you.

You LOVE reading. I mean you REALLY love reading. We have been reading books to you every night since you were an itty bitty and I think you have come accustomed to that little tradition and I love that. You have a million and 1 toys, but all day long I see you sitting with your nose in books. You will bring books up to us to read, you point at things in the book and we tell you what they are and you repeat us, you read books by yourself all the time making up the words and sounds. My favorite is when you are in the other room and I haven’t heard you make a noise in a minute and I walk in there to check on you and you are sitting on our bed reading a book; it is the cutest thing. I’m not gonna lie, if you only want to read and read and never play with your toys I will not mind at all. You can learn so much from books and I see that you already are learning that you have a love for books. I love you my sweet sweet reading little girl.

I can’t believe it is already almost your 2nd Halloween! This blows my mind. They had a trick-or-treating thing downtown so we took you to it. We dressed you as Princess Peach to go with our Mario family costume theme. I have to say you looked very very cute, and I was so stoked that you kept your crown on pretty much the entire time. You were really good about picking one piece of candy out of the buckets. There was a guy dressed up as Shrek handing out candy and when we went up to him you shook your head no and hid; I laughed. You had a really fun time and we promise to share your candy with you! =]

You have had the biggest obsession with dogs lately. When we saw that the library was hosting a border collie show we immediately knew that we had to take you to watch these dogs. You loved it. You pointed and screamed “DAAAA DAAAA DAAAA” (dog) pretty much the whole time. After the show they let everyone come up and pet 2 of the dogs and you were pretty stoked on it, I will say. I love that you love dogs so much, or any animal for that matter. My favorite is watching you chase Scout around the house and watching her run for her life and then you laughing so hard that you made her run off. You rule!

You will be a big sister in 6 more days!!! You love kissing and slapping (aka high fiving brother/sister as I like to call it) my belly. I know that you are going to be the greatest best big sister there ever was to ever live, I know it. You are so sweet and so good with other kids. We just got to work on the not poking other kids in the eyeball thing because that won’t really work with brother/sister. I want you to know that even though our time is going to be a little bit less attention just on you, that we will still make all the time in the world for you no matter what. I love you little girl and I can’t believe you are about to be a little big sister already.

I heard the ice cream truck yesterday and got very very excited like a 5 year old would. You must of heard him to because you woke up from your nap just in time to catch him. I was so very stoked to get you your very first popsicle and for you to have your first of many ice cream truck experiences. You loved it. I just want you to know that I hope when you are 22 years old you get as excited as I did when you hear those jingle musical ice cream truck noises. And also I hope you know that probably every time we hear an ice cream truck through out your life, you will most likely be getting ice cream. I hope you are looking forward to it!

Last night I laid you down in the normal spot where we lay and I nurse you to sleep. After I didn’t lay down with you right away you started repeating “mamamamamama”. You have said it before but this time I knew you associated the word with me. I am overjoyed. Today I was gone for over an hour and when I came back daddy had recorded this video of you looking over the seat where I normally sit repeating “mamamama”. It was the best video ever to come back to after waiting in a waiting room for over an hour. Little girl I am so proud that your first word was mama, you have no idea. That makes me a very happy and proud mama. I love you so much and can’t wait to hear all the other words that start popping out of your little mouth.

The other day I took you to the pet store for the first time. You just kind of looked around and I think you were just in awe the whole time. I think you enjoyed it though.
In other news you are becoming a genius! You can understand when we say certain actions. Like when we tell you to jump, you will start moving your legs all crazy and actually jumping. And the newest thing that you do that I LOVE LOVE LOVE is when I ask you “will you give me kisses” you grab both sides of my hair to pull my head closer to you and put your mouth to my mouth. Little girl, if you knew how amazing and how much I love when you do that. You are my favorite Sunshine.

We got you a Johnny Jump Up!!! Happy late Christmas present to you!!! It took you a minute to get it, but once you did you JUMPED and I know you love it. I’m so glad.
In other news, something cute that you have started doing this week: whenever you are crying and we go pick you up and put you on our shoulder you start patting our backs as if to tell us to pat your back. IT’S CUTE. You also have started doing the same “patting/hitting” motion to my boob which I think means that you want my boob.
One other thing, whenever me or dad come up to you and pop out of no where and scare you, you start laughing hysterically like it’s some kind of funny joke. I hope this action stays and you laugh in the faces of monsters at your first haunted house adventure.

If you were ever wondering what your favorite food is as a 6 month old, I would tell you that it is squash. You love the stuff. Actually you have been a really good eater since we have started solids. You are fond of pretty much everything we give you besides those crazy jarred meats like ham and turkey; you only eat those sometimes. You also LOVE water and can drink out of a cup (with our help). You just love food and I’m so glad that you are old enough to eat solids and enjoy them as much as you do.

You have been OBSESSED with lights ever since you were born. You are fascinated with all types, colors, kinds, anything that has to do with a light you will stare at it for ever. I know you are loving all these Christmas lights, and I bet this is going to soon become your favorite season.
