Whenever we ask you “do you want to take a bath?” your face lights up and you squeal with joy and start screaming “BAAAA”! This along with brushing your teeth are your two favorite things to do right now. You are the cleanest hippy child I have ever met.

You have had the biggest obsession with dogs lately. When we saw that the library was hosting a border collie show we immediately knew that we had to take you to watch these dogs. You loved it. You pointed and screamed “DAAAA DAAAA DAAAA” (dog) pretty much the whole time. After the show they let everyone come up and pet 2 of the dogs and you were pretty stoked on it, I will say. I love that you love dogs so much, or any animal for that matter. My favorite is watching you chase Scout around the house and watching her run for her life and then you laughing so hard that you made her run off. You rule!

I would officially say that you are now a walker! You took a few steps the other day and then walked half way across the living room. You haven’t mastered it perfectly yet, but I think you are pretty darn close! Let the bruises, head bashing, and chasing begin!

Oh you know just loving the most weirdest foods of life. Still have yet to see you make a sour face towards any sour foods. Maybe one day!
Dear Sunshine (or should I say big sister),
As I already expected you are THE worlds best big sister ever ever ever! You always come up and give Buggy hugs and kisses and even try to pick him up and hold him. I cannot wait to see you two grow up together and watch you teach him how to talk and play and everything I’m sure that you will teach him. You are the sweetest little girl and if I was Buggy I would be stoked that you were my big sister.

I would just like to say that you are a genius! You know where your head, teeth, tongue, nose, eyes, mouth, ears, button, hands, and toes are! That is 10 BODY PARTS!!! I don’t know any other 13 month old that can point out that many body parts. Pure genius; really!!!

You will be a big sister in 6 more days!!! You love kissing and slapping (aka high fiving brother/sister as I like to call it) my belly. I know that you are going to be the greatest best big sister there ever was to ever live, I know it. You are so sweet and so good with other kids. We just got to work on the not poking other kids in the eyeball thing because that won’t really work with brother/sister. I want you to know that even though our time is going to be a little bit less attention just on you, that we will still make all the time in the world for you no matter what. I love you little girl and I can’t believe you are about to be a little big sister already.
Dear Sunny Rae,
Call us crazy but we bought you a potty seat last week and well lets just say it was a brilliant idea. Right when we got home from the store we sat you on it and asked if you had to pee. Sitting there anxiously daddy saw you put your hand in the potty and when you pulled it out it was wet! 1st try you peed right in the potty seat. You have now been peeing and even pooping in the potty like an expert really. You crawl over to the potty and we put you on it and most of the time you pee. Obviously you still are in diapers and are still peeing and pooping in them but we just thought we would get the ball rolling on potty training as we saw signs that you were ready, and we were absolutely right. Mommy and daddy could not be more proud of you little girl. It seems like getting you potty trained will be easier than we expected.

We have been very busy people lately on account of we have been moving all of our things from our old place to our NEW HOUSE!!! This is our first house together that is all our own! It is so adorable and perfect for our growing family. It is quite small, I will admit, but I don’t think you seem to mind too much and neither do we. This place is way better than the place we were staying at. We have amazing neighbors all with kids around your age so you can have play mates to grow up around! We are in a great family part of town with the bike trail and 2 parks within walking distance. You better believe we will be going to the park on the regular little girl. Also the fence in the backyard is getting done today and then we are thinking about getting you a little pool to play in because it is way too hot outside and it’s no fun staying inside all day long. I love you little girl and I am so glad that we found the perfect little place for us to stay for hopefully a very long while.
Dear Sunshine,
You are the biggest ray of sunshine I have ever seen in my entire life. You now “boot scoot” and walk along the furniture all by yourself across the floor. You can get from one spot of the room to the next in seriously less than 5 seconds flat; you are VERY fast little girl. You know how to wave, clap, point and say “wa da” (which I think I’m going to count as your first phrase meaning what’s that), you can say a million other different sounds mixed with a handful of words. You smile at everyone you see because you are just miss friendly and sociable. You know how to take lids off of things, put things in and out of buckets, blow your nose, and countless other little do dads that I can’t think of right now. You make a “di” sound when your diaper is dirty and when asked if you have a dirty diaper you pull on your diaper. You say “mo” when you want more of something like food or water. When asked “where is your head, nose, teeth” you can point to each one of them. You have almost mastered feeding yourself with a spoon. You give kisses and hugs SO much and you can blow kisses. You sleep through the night almost every night now without being boobed to sleep. Your favorite thing to do though is to clear the coffee table by throwing all the things always.
Let’s just say you are pretty much perfect.

On June 25th your aunt Karlee had surprise twin boys; Kyle Fly and Miles Trust. They were 6 weeks early so they were very tiny and under a lot of stress. They were both doing pretty good, but Kyle was barely hanging in there. He passed away last night at 4:09am. You woke up last night crying around the same time he passed and it made me wonder if maybe somehow you knew something was wrong. Even though you only have 1 little boy cousin physically here, you will always have 2 little boy cousins. I know that you won’t understand any of this until you are older but I thought I would still write it down so that you could one day look back and read about little Kyle and how he was a precious being too special for this world.
This makes me appreciate every moment I have with you and makes me look back at how scary it was giving birth to you; having to be thrown into an emergency C-section, not being awake for your birth, hearing that you didn’t have a real first cry, seeing how extremely tiny you were. I am so glad that you made your way through to the world little girl. I just can’t imagine…

Dear Sunshine Rae,
Happy First Birthday little girl! You turned 1 years old on June 23rd at 1:41pm. You woke up to balloons covering the living room floor and presents. Daddy made you some nutella pancakes for your birthday breakfast which you loved. We baked you a cake during your morning nap then we headed out to the park for the afternoon. We played for a while then sang you happy birthday right at 1:41pm! Daddy made you a sock monkey which you are IN LOVE with and cuddle to sleep and give kisses all the time. The rest of the day was spent playing with your ball pit, reading books, playing guitar with daddy, eating all of your favorite foods, and ending in us letting you have a glass of chocolate milk. I’m almost positive that you had an amazing birthday!
I can barely believe that a year has already passed with you little girl. You can do so much amazing things and you are seriously the smartest kid I know. You amaze us every day by saying or doing something new that we didn’t knew you knew how to do or say. I love you so much and I am still in shock that you are 1 years old now. It blows my mind and I know that each year I will think the same way. You are just such a wonderful, beautiful, amazing, fantastic, smart, loving, cool little girl; really. I can’t wait to spend a million more years with you. You are my favorite human. Happy First Birthday little girl; I love you more than you could ever know.

You are growing up way to fast. 1 years old on Saturday…how? You were just a little tiny thing and now you are getting bigger every day, becoming less bald, being extremely mobile, and growing into this amazing little person. I can’t even explain to you how much I wish you could stay little forever mixed with how much I want to see you grow up. It’s like the hardest combination of feelings to have. Growing up is hard stuff little girl. I know that it is a good thing for you to be growing and turning into a little you, and I know that certain things are going to change with you throughout the years; that’s just how growing up works and I can’t wait (well I can wait actually). I hope that no matter how old you get you always always always have that little imagination and that interest you have in the littlest of things; always. I love you Sunny Rae.

I heard the ice cream truck yesterday and got very very excited like a 5 year old would. You must of heard him to because you woke up from your nap just in time to catch him. I was so very stoked to get you your very first popsicle and for you to have your first of many ice cream truck experiences. You loved it. I just want you to know that I hope when you are 22 years old you get as excited as I did when you hear those jingle musical ice cream truck noises. And also I hope you know that probably every time we hear an ice cream truck through out your life, you will most likely be getting ice cream. I hope you are looking forward to it!
